If you’re new to college you may not know this but keep an eye out for a week and you’ll know what I’m talking about. EVERY day bikes are stolen! I don’t know who takes them or why but they do. Maybe they sell them on ebay or something. Oh yeah, and don’t just lock up your front wheel, when you get out of class their will be nothing left but your wheel. If you want your derailers, seat, handlebars, frame, chain, flashing LED light, etc back, you’ll probably find them here… www.ebay.com.
There are a variety of locks for your bicycle. Some are chains, some are cable, and some are hard steal. If you’re not too worried about someone taking your bike, just buy a simple cable lock for about $10 (here at least). If you’ve spent a good amount of money on your bike with shocks, telemetry equipment, and tassles, you might want to invest in something a bit more sterdy such as a kryptonite U-lock. They’re a little bulkier but most come with an attachment to mount it on your frame.

If you’re renting an apartment or sharing a house with other people, I guarantee you’re not always going to agree on sleeping temperature. Whether it’s a difference in temperature preference or a roommate that’s trying to save some money, they’ll be some issue. One product that I found extremely useful when I lived in a house with 6 other people was a portable heater. They’re REALLY cheap (unlike an air conditioner) and it’ll save you on those winter nights when your roommates want to keep the house freezing to keep the ice luge from yesterdays party alive for one more day. If your heating bill is huge, everyone in the house can use one of these in their bedroom and leave heat off in the rest of the house. That should help cut down on your heating bill as well as allow everyone to set their own temperature.
Okay, everyone needs these no matter who you are. A party wouldn’t be complete without beer pong! When it comes to beer-pong balls I’ve noticed that many of the balls get lost, damaged, swallowed, etc. So do yourself a favor and get an economy pack. It’ll last you many parties and save you moola.
